380Larry Cohen grew up in the 1920s and 30s in New York City. He was a soldier in World War II, married, and had a distinguished career as an educator. Since his retirement, he has worked part-time as a tutor at a college in Westchester, New York. Cohen, who is widowed and the father of two grown sons and five grandchildren, is the author of the charming memoir, Almost an Orphan, published when he was 87.
